We've got a new home! After a couple of years of trying to shoehorn ever more gear into the limited space at our original location, we've finally found an even better home. After much contemplation and consideration, we've packed up and moved a mile and a half west, to 2608 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena. We're now located one mile east of Pasadena Community College, and just a half block west of Pasadena Guitar Center. Our new home features three times the space of our original store, has higher ceilings, retail exposure, and is at ground level! No more schlepping amps and guitar cases up the narrow flight of stairs that made the original RedZone a minor challenge to access. We've also got 2 brand new rooms we custom built, dedicated to lessons! There's even a modest stage, which we'll utilize for clinics, open mic nights, and all sorts of cool stuff. The photo at right, taken during the move, shows about 20% of our guitar inventory, and none of the amps. There's lots more to show you, so come by soon for a visit!
RedZone Guitar Works is not your typical music store. Our little shop is really more of a hangout, a social club, a place to kick back, relax, and talk about guitars, amps, recording, performing, or whatever else is on your mind.
When we go into those other stores - the big music store chains - we're frequently faced with a horde of impassioned young musicians, each simultaneously banging out a heartfelt impression of his or her guitar hero du jour. When you have a half dozen guitarists, each playing different songs or riffs at high volume, the resulting cacaphony can be sonically overwhelming. You won't get that here. RedZone Guitar Works is a music store for grownups. This doesn't mean we never turn up the volume. We still know how to have a good time, and spontaneous jams occasionally erupt. It's just that we do it with a little more grace and consideration.
With a laid-back atmosphere and a fun and interesting mix of high-end instruments and funky, eclectic, one-of-a-kind treasures at all price points, RedZone is the secret stash you've been looking for. It's a place where you can relax, talk shop, leisurely check out all the guitars and other items of gooey sonic goodness, and never feel like you're getting a sales pitch.

We just love guitars, and we figure if you didn't love them as much as we do, you probably wouldn't waste your time visiting stores like ours. It is this shared interest which bonds us, and is more important to us than making a sale. And should you decide to purchase an instrument, amp, or accessory from us, we'll always put forth the extra effort to make you happy you did.
For the most part, we don't stock the same mix of stuff you'll see at typical retail guitar stores. Sure, there will always be some overlap between our stock and that of the chain stores, but we strive to offer the elite and/or the uncommon. If we carry the same brands as the other stores, we try to stock the models they don't - which generally means we have the higher-end or more unusual models of any given manufacturer's line. Additionally, we work with local luthiers, craftsmen, and boutique manufacturers, and feature custom or hard-to-find instruments. We also deal heavily in the used instrument market, and as such, our inventory is highly dynamic and ever-changing.
At RedZone Guitar Works, we buy, sell, trade, and rent instruments. We also do repair work and customizations, and we even have a loaner program! If you bring your instrument to us for service or repair, we can loan you a similar instrument so you've got something to play until yours is returned.
